The most likely reason is the spread. Here's why:
Buy Orders and the Spread:
- Buy Orders open at the ASK price, while Sell Orders open at the BID price.
- The price you see on the chart is the BID price.
Even if your Buy Limit price appears to have been reached on the chart, it doesn’t necessarily mean the ASK price has also reached that level.
Example:
- You have a Buy Limit Order on EUR/USD at 1.21323 (Green Line).
- The chart shows the BID price, which might look like your order should have been executed.
- To find the ASK price, you need to add the spread that existed at that time.
- The ASK price will always be higher than the BID price.
To estimate the ASK price, add the average spread to the BID price shown on the chart. This will help you determine if the ASK price reached your Buy Limit level.
You can find the spread for each instrument by clicking on it in your Skilling interface.
By understanding the spread and how it affects the ASK and BID prices, you can better assess why your Buy Limit Orders may not have been executed.
